How it Works The Swift system uses the1-5 True Colour VND or FS ND Kit as a foundation, which screws into the lens thread like any conventional filter. A variety of other popular filters can then be connected via a low-friction system that just pops onto the main filter to create up to 15 configurations. Each component is available individually or as part of a kit and is available in sizes 67, 72, 77, 82 and 95mm.
Foundation
1-5 True Colour VND – The world's best VND
Stackable Add-ons
ND16 True Colour(4-stop / 1.2) – Convert the 1-5 VND to 5-9 VND
Black Mist 1/4 or 1/8 – Add cinematic atmosphere and bloom highlights
Adapter Rings – To mount Swift filters without 1-5 VND in low light
Adapter Ring for Low Light – What if you're shooting in low light and don't want to use the 1-5 VND as a foundation? The Swift system offers affordable adapter rings that then serve as the foundation that the other filters can clip onto. New Optical Tech – The New ND16 features all of the latest tech that has made NiSi's 1-5 True Colour VND the best in the world. A lot of this tech comes form NiSi's R&D to develop the ultimate full spectrum ND filters for cinema (still unreleased). It ensures that you can darken your exposure by up to 9-stops with class-leading colour, contrast and detail performance. The IR-Cut filter has the most layers in any NiSi filter ever made - a total of 38, to ensure the best possible colour capture for RED and Blackmagic users.
This is the Swift version of NiSi's best-selling True Colour Circular Polariser. It allows the CPL to be used in any combination with the rest of the Swift system.
When it comes to enhancing images, a circular polarizer is probably the oldest trick in the book. It can change a pale sky to a deep blue one, turn foliage into a luminous super-green, light up autumn colours, saturate rainbows and even make water look crystal clear. The added contrast, saturation and clarity that a polarizer can give to images is nothing short of magic and every photographer should have one in their bag. Contrary to its name, a polarising filter does not polarise light; it filters out polarised light. Light from the sun is polarised when it bounces off any non-metallic reflective surface like water, foliage or various air particulates. Polarised light robs images of colour, clarity and contrast and is in many situations undesirable. A polarizing filter removes this 'damaged' light and ensures that only unpolarised light reaches the camera sensor to produce a sharp, saturated and contrast-rich image. For this reason, a polarizing filter is a very popular tool for any photographer, but especially for landscape photographers.
The Swift VND Mist Kit is the full house filmmaker filter kit.The NiSi Swift system is the cutting edge of circular video filter technology. It builds on the the success of NiSi's 1-5 True Colour VND, widely regarded as the best VND in the world, and offers a new filter mounting system that allows you toswitch between different filter configurations in seconds. It's also optically superior and on average 30% cheaper than NiSi's previous offering.
Included in theSwift VND Mist Kit
True Colour PRO Nano Variable ND x1-5 Stops
Swift ND16(4 Stops) (combine with 1-5 to create 5-9 VND)
The NiSi Swift FS ND Kit is a game-changing solution for fixed density ND filters (not variable). This kit includes three full spectrum Neutral Density (ND) filters: ND8 (3 Stop), ND64 (6 Stop), and ND1000 (10 Stop), along with adaptors for multiple filter threads. The combination of the Swift system and FSND technology allows and encourages filters to be stacked, offering densities of 3,6,9,10,13,16 and 19 stops.
Swift - Stacking is quick and easy with NiSi's patented friction-based Swift system, while being lighter and more reliable than magnetic systems. Filters simply press on and pull off with a bit of force.
FSND Colour Technology - NiSi have now proven themselves beyond a doubt as the leader of circular ND filter technology - these kits are no different and features their latest full spectrum technologies. Expect perfect colour even at extreme densities - no cast, no vignetting.
Colour Coded Densities - Each density is a different colour, making it easy to know immediately which filter you're pulling out of the pouch or which density is where in the stack.
Cutting Edge Nano Coatings - These filters feature the latest hydrophobic coatings , which repel water and make filters easy to clean. They also feature a TI coating which makes them incredibly hard and resistant to micro scratches that write off a filter over time.
Each kit also includes several step rings, making it much more economic to filter your lenses.

The NiSi Black Pro Mist Diffusion Filter is perfect for stills or video. It lowers contrast, diffuses highlights and helps to balance the tonal range among highlights and shadows. The NiSi Black Mist creates that cinematic look and is commonly used to soften wrinkles and blemishes and create a flattering image of a subject.
The Cinematic Atmosphere Filter – When used correctly, black mist filters combine a variety of effects to create a dreamy cinematic atmosphere. Especially in golden backlight and night scenes with creative lighting.
Highlight Blooming – A Black Mist filter suppresses highlights and turns harsh bright areas into a soft diffused glow.
Shadow Softening – Mist filters soften harsh shadows, giving a smoky/misty look to dark areas.
Diffused Glow of Artificial Light – Mist filters come to life when used with artificial lighting. This could be neon street lights, LED strings or creative studio lighting. Mist filters create a cloud of glow around lights that play a core role in what we know as cinematic atmosphere.
Nano coating – NiSi’s Nano coating on each glass surface results in an improved beading effect when in contact with water for greater cleaning efficiency.
Brass Frame – Constructed with a high-quality brass frame for enhancing durability and jamming prevention.
This filter is constructed from optical glass in grades of 1/8, 1/4 and 1/2 – the effect becomes approximately twice as strong with each grade number increase.
The NiSi True Colour ND-VARIO Pro Nano 1.0 - 5.0 stop Variable ND is the latest revision of NiSi's best selling filter; the 1.5 - 5.0 stop ND Vario and features several improvements over its predecessor. (Dec 2021 Launch)
IMPROVEMENTS
True Colour Tech - NiSi have brought in the help of Japanese optical specialists to further refine the colour accuracy of this filter, which was already widely regarded as excellent.
Wider Density Range - Although only half a stop (improved from 1.5-5.0 to 1.0-5.0), this can buy you an extra 1 minutes of shooting time when the ambient light is fading before having to take the filter off.
Density Markings - The new filter has the stops marked on the side of the filter to assist users with exposure calculations.
Filter Cap - The filter now ships with an included filter cap, so you can put away your camera without having to remove the filter, but knowing that your filter won't damage in transport or storage.
Handling Pin - The steel pin used for turning the filter is now packed separately instead of mounted to the filter so you can choose whether to use it or not from the start.
More pronounced knurling for easier installation and removal.
Storage Pouch - The filter still comes with a hard plastic case, but also with a rigid canvas pouch that looks better than the plastic case.
The 0.3 to 1.5 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing wider apertures or slower shutter speeds than usually possible. The degree of density is easily controlled by rotating the front filter ring with or without the included silver lever, helping you predetermine the additional exposure length required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you can control the depth of field and convey movement more easily. The transition of density occurs smoothly which allows the photographer or videographer to adjust exposure length to the exact amount required for a given scene. For easier, repeatable control over density settings, the front ring is visually marked with numbers representing the different stop values. The ring features silver side knurlings for a secure grip and easy installation and removal. For those using this filter with cinema or video cameras, combined adjustments of aperture and this filter allow fine adjustments of the depth of field while retaining the designated frame rate. The Variable ND offers True Color that avoids colour shift seen in other Variable filters. The NiSi True Color ND-VARIO Pro Nano 1-5stops Variable ND is made from high-definition optical glass for the best resolution and quality. The glass is coated using the NiSi Nano coating providing a waterproof, oil-proof and anti-reflective coating to avoid ghosting and reflections.
